Description
The Youth MHFA Refresher course is a course for people who have previously completed the 12 hour Youth MHFA course within the last 3 years. The MHFA Refresher course will extend the certification or a further 3 years.
This refresher course will give participants the opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills they learnt from the 14 hour Youth MHFA course.
This course consists of eLearning modules and one 3 hour instructor led webinar.
During this course participants will:
- Gain an understanding of the latest research in mental health
- Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
- Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
- Practice mental health first aid skills
The content of each refresher course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
