Mental Health Awareness For Managers – Full day Course

Give your managers the confidence to recognise when someone may be struggling and respond in a supportive and appropriate way.

Managers can play an important role in creating a workplace where people feel comfortable talking about their mental health. But knowing what to say, when to approach someone and how best to offer support isn’t always easy.

Our Mental Health Awareness for Managers full-day course gives managers and team leaders a practical introduction to mental health in the workplace, helping them feel more confident recognising signs of stress or poor mental health and having supportive conversations with members of their team.

No previous mental health knowledge or experience is required.

Who is the course for?

The course is designed for managers, supervisors, team leaders and anyone with responsibility for supporting others in the workplace.

It is particularly useful for organisations looking to give managers a shared understanding of mental health and greater confidence in responding when a member of their team may need support.

Supporting better conversations at work

Managers are not expected to diagnose mental health problems or become therapists.

Instead, this course helps managers understand how to notice when something may be wrong, start a supportive conversation, listen appropriately and help someone access further support where needed.

It can also help managers think more confidently about how workplace pressures, communication and working practices can affect employee wellbeing.

A note about wellbeing

Some of the topics discussed may feel sensitive or personally relevant. Participants are never expected to share personal experiences, and the course is not intended to provide therapy or personal mental health support.

This helps us create a comfortable and supportive learning environment for everyone attending.
