About Me

I am currently Equality, Diversity and inclusion Officer at Cardiff University and provide mental health (including MHFA) and other training at the university.

I studied social work(DipSW) and community studies (BA) and since graduation, worked extensively (20 yrs) in mental health roles, which included direct tenancy support in MIND before managing the MIND mental health supported accommodation service, then working as Student Mental Health Adviser at Cardiff University.. I have also had experience working in homelessness, older people, disability (including neurodiversity) and youth engagement projects, working with a variety of people from different cultural and religious backgrounds. I have vast experience of supporting, parents, carers and relatives of those with mental health issues.

I has strong passion and understanding of the complexity and diversity of mental health and wellbeing and how it impacts on different individuals and groups. Personal experiences of mental health issues add to my depth of understanding.
