About Me

As a Samaritan and Mental Health First Aid Instructor I am passionate about raising the awareness of Mental Health throughout society.
I have spent many years teaching, the last few, of which, spent working with children with Addition Learning Needs, a role which I found extremely rewarding. Additionally, I have previously worked as a ChildLine counsellor.
Currently, I deliver professional workplace training and courses on safeguarding, resilience, mental health and mindfulness within the education and corporate sector. I also work one to one with staff listening to their issues, endeavouring to help the individual to overcome, or at least live with, their problems.
My overriding passion is yoga and meditation. As a yoga teacher, I also teach breath work and mindfulness – I firmly believe that a healthy mind will lead to a healthy body – this is my mantra and main driver and why I feel Mental Health First Aid is so important.
As a mother of 4 children and grandmother of 6, I have garnered many and wide ranging life experiences, allowing me to appreciate the devastating effects of depression and anxiety; this has provided me with a deep and empathetic understanding which is strongly reflected in my personality.
All proceeds received from my delivering of this course will go to the Samaritans, I undertake my activities in this role professionally and in a volunteer capacity. Empathy is my watchword.
